What age can you start diving?

You can start diving at generally around the age of 8 years old. You must be a confident independent swimmer in deep water.

What do I wear to diving?

Girls wear a tight one-piece swimsuit. No bikinis permitted.

Boys wear either Speedo or Speedo type shorts. Board shorts are permitted as long as they don't restrict movement.

How are our training sessions structured?

Our training sessions are open to all ages from 8 years to adults, as well as a mix of abilities and goals. Our divers compete in local, state and national competitions as well as recreational divers that do not compete. Our sessions consist of both dryland training and water-based training including off the edge of the pool, off the boards, and off the platforms. Our training sessions are all group based.

What do I bring each lesson?

You need to bring your swimmers, a towel (several towels on cooler days), chamois and a drink bottle. Gym wear are recommended for dryland sessions.

Do I need to be a member of Diving NSW?

Yes. Our membership covers registration to both HUDA and Diving NSW - it is compulsory to be a member of Diving NSW.

Do I have to compete?

No. You can train as a recreational diver.

How do I book into a session?

You must be a member of the club to be able to book into a training session. To book into a session, log into your account (must be the account of the diver, not the parent account). Select the “training sessions” tab at the top of our website. Select the date you wish to attend. Only sessions that are open for bookings will be accessible. Click on the circle to the left of the day/date. Click on the blue “book into” bar at the top of the page and confirm your booking using the Discount Code for Full Season Training or 10 session pass members. For casual one off bookings payment will be required. You will receive an email confirming you booking. Bookings open 7 days prior to the training session.

  • Members who have paid for a season training pass will be provided with a Discount Code to use to book training sessions.
  • Members who have paid for a 10 session pass for training will be provided with a Discount Code to use to book for their 10 training sessions. Each time you pay for a 10 session pass you will require a new Discount Code.
  • For a casual session you will need to pay at the time of booking the session.
